Imaginations soar as you create your own unique clay sculpture using wet potters clay! Instruction in designing, construction & attaching clay structures, as well as painting application techniques will be covered.

DRAWING PEOPLE

Advance your drawing skills while taking on the challenge of developing your own art style for drawing people! Basic beginning drawing instruction will be covered. Campers will learn from a variety of contemporary illustrators as well as past master artists.

Learn how to create a sculpture of yourself doing your favorite activity using potters clay! Campers will learn how to think 3-dimensionally as they are taught how to carve, attach and create clothing and props for their masterpiece!

PAINTING LANDSCAPES

Explore the work of master artist Claude Monet and create your own landscape oil painting on canvas while painting outdoors in the gardens at Mosaic’s studio. Instruction in drawing, painting and capturing light through color.

 

MONDAY, JULY 24 – FRIDAY, JULY 28

PAINTING VINEYARDS
9:30am-12:00pm

Create your own vineyard oil painting from the grape vines in Mosaic’s unique landscaping designed after Monets French gardens. Learn how to use line, form, shading and color to create your masterpiece!

CLAY RELIEF CARVING
12:00pm-2:30pm

Take on the challenge of creating a relief carving in clay slabs of a tiny home designed for a special creature or person, imagined or real. Color theory and shading will be covered. Introduction to one point and two point perspectives as well as illustrating living creatures.

CLAY RELIEF SCULPTING
12:00pm-2:30pm

Develop your artistic skill in rendering a clay wall relief sculpture illustrating a particular architectural structure for an imagined or real inhabitant; mammal, mankind or manga. Instruction with intro to architectural design, as well as composition in relation to landscapes; garden, sea or moonscape in colors, plantings, and textures. Instruction in color theory, one point, two point and three point perspectives.
